This dialogue is between two cousins, Dev and Suvigya. Dev has recently visited Kanha Kisli and is very excited. He wants to share his excitement and experiences with his cousin.

Dev – It is in Mandla district near Jabalpur in M.P. It is 83 kms away from Balaghat.

Suvigya – How can we reach there?
सुविज्ञ – हम वहाँ कैसे पहुँच सकते हैं?

Dev – We can reach there by bus. We can also get there by rail and even by air. The nearest railway station and airport is Jabalpur.
देव – हम बस से वहाँ पहुँच सकते हैं। हम रेल और हवाई जहाज़ से भी वहाँ पहुँच सकते हैं। सबसे नज़दीकी रेलवे स्टेशन और हवाई अड्डा जबलपुर है।

Suvigya – Dev, tell me more about Kanha.
सुविज्ञ – देव, मुझे कान्हा के बारे में और बताओ।

Dev – Kanha National Park came into existence in 1955. Since then it has been protected for its flora and fauna. It preserves the wildlife species in abundance. It is known as one of the finest and best administered National Parks in Asia. It attracts wildlife lovers and tourists in thousands during the peak season. It is also a source of inspiration and attraction for the nature lovers.

देव – कान्हा राष्ट्रीय उद्यान 1955 में अस्तित्व में आया। तब से इसे इसके वनस्पतियों और जीवों के लिए संरक्षित किया गया है। यह प्रचुर मात्रा में वन्यजीव प्रजातियों को संरक्षित करता है। इसे एशिया के सबसे बेहतरीन और सबसे बेहतर तरीके से प्रबंधित राष्ट्रीय उद्यानों में से एक के रूप में जाना जाता है। यह पीक सीजन के दौरान हजारों की संख्या में वन्यजीव प्रेमियों और पर्यटकों को आकर्षित करता है। यह प्रकृति प्रेमियों के लिए प्रेरणा और आकर्षण का स्रोत भी है।

Suvigya – (with surprise) How did you come to know about it?

Dev – My uncle is a manager in the M.P. State Tourism Department. At present, he is posted at Kanha Kisli. He invited us all to see it. So, recently. visited Kanha Kisli with my parents.

देव – मेरे चाचा जी मध्य प्रदेश राज्य पर्यटन विभाग में मैनेजर हैं। वर्तमान में वे कान्हा किसली में पदस्थ हैं। उन्होंने हम सबको कान्हा किसली देखने के लिए आमंत्रित किया। इसलिए हाल ही में अपने माता-पिता के साथ कान्हा किसली घूमने गए।

Surigya – What did you see there?

Dev – I went to Baghira log huts, Kisli, where my uncle lives. Kisli has a dense forest with wild ferocious animals. Tourists go there and enjoy the natural scenery, jungle life, wild animals and birds.

देव – मैं बाघिरा लॉग हट्स, किसली गया, जहाँ मेरे चाचा रहते हैं। किसली में जंगली खूंखार जानवरों वाला घना जंगल है। पर्यटक वहाँ जाकर प्राकृतिक दृश्य, जंगल का जीवन, जंगली जानवर और पक्षियों का आनंद लेते हैं।

Suvigya – Which animals did you see there?
सुविज्ञ – तुमने वहाँ कौन से जानवर देखे?

Dev – Oh! The most attractive creature of Kanha National Park is the tiger. Luckily I had a glimpse of the tigers. People go on elephants for locating tigers. It is really thrilling to see the tigers sitting or lying inside the dense bushes and hedges. I saw a tiger drinking water from the nearby rivulet. We happened to see a tigress along with her two cubs. Her eyes were flashing like glassballs.

देव – ओह! कान्हा नेशनल पार्क का सबसे आकर्षक प्राणी बाघ है। सौभाग्य से मुझे बाघों की एक झलक मिल गई। लोग बाघों को ढूँढने के लिए हाथियों पर जाते हैं। घनी झाड़ियों और झाड़ियों के बीच बैठे या लेटे बाघों को देखना वाकई रोमांचकारी होता है। मैंने एक बाघ को पास के नाले से पानी पीते देखा। हमें एक बाघिन अपने दो शावकों के साथ दिखी। उसकी आँखें कांच की गेंदों की तरह चमक रही थीं।

Suvigya – Don’t the tigers attack the tourists?
सुविज्ञ – क्या बाघ पर्यटकों पर हमला नहीं करते?

Dev – Not generally. People enter the forest quietly. People and even children are instructed to keep quiet inside the jungle. We have to maintain some distance too.

देव – आम तौर पर नहीं। लोग चुपचाप जंगल में प्रवेश करते हैं। लोगों और यहां तक ​​कि बच्चों को भी जंगल के अंदर चुप रहने की हिदायत दी जाती है। हमें भी कुछ दूरी बनाए रखनी होती है।

Suvigya – Aren’t there some other animals?

Dev – Yes, there are. We saw blackbucks, cheetals, sambhars, deer, spotted deer, gaurs (Indian bison), horned antelopes and stags.It is the habitat of twenty species of mammals. There are palm squirrels, apes (langurs), monkeys, jackals, wild pigs, wild dogs, chausinghas (fourhorned antelopes), hyenas and jungle cats in plenty.

देव – हाँ, वहाँ हैं। हमने काले हिरण, चीतल, सांभर, हिरण, चित्तीदार हिरण, गौर (भारतीय बाइसन), सींग वाले मृग और बारहसिंगा देखे। यह स्तनधारियों की बीस प्रजातियों का निवास स्थान है। यहाँ ताड़ की गिलहरियाँ, वानर (लंगूर), बंदर, सियार, जंगली सूअर, जंगली कुत्ते, चौसिंघा (चार सींग वाले मृग), लकड़बग्घे और जंगली बिल्लियाँ बहुतायत में हैं।

Suvigya – Oh! It must he a wonderful place to see.
सुविज्ञ – ओह! यह देखने लायक अद्भुत जगह होगी।

Dev – It is really worth seeing. Even the bird lovers enjoy the site. There are 200 species of birds in Kanha. Water birds are visible near pools. Early morning and late afternoons are the best times for watching birds. Even common fowls, doves, hawks, eagles, pigeons, flycatchers, woodpeckers are abundantly found.

देव – यह वाकई देखने लायक है। पक्षी प्रेमी भी इस जगह का लुत्फ़ उठाते हैं। कान्हा में पक्षियों की 200 प्रजातियाँ हैं। तालाबों के पास पानी के पक्षी दिखाई देते हैं। सुबह-सुबह और देर दोपहर पक्षियों को देखने का सबसे अच्छा समय है। यहाँ आम मुर्गे, कबूतर, बाज, चील, कबूतर, फ्लाईकैचर, कठफोड़वा भी बहुतायत में पाए जाते हैं।

Suvigya : Thank you Dev. You have told me of a pleasant and thrilling place. I shall make a plan to visit Kanha with my parents next summer vacation.

Dev – But try to reach Kisli before the sunset, since vehicles are not permitted in the park after the sunset.
